In the “Hugofilm” company, a new generation of film-makers and producers have joined forces to embark on novel ways of production and realization in the hard business of subsidized Swiss films. Co-operation on the basis of visions, innovative marketing methods, co-productions with foreign companies and a larger part of the risks assumed by the producers than usual are to place auteur films closer to the general cinema market. With “Jo Siffert” and “Vitus”, two demanding films with imaginative marketing and quite some courage evinced by its producers were recently and successfully placed in Swiss cinemas and international festivals and markets. Datuma supports Hugofilm with a loan to strengthen the shareholders’ equity of the company. By this, the producers’ room to manoeuvre in developing new film projects was to be expanded.
