Originally, Datuma was established by private means and based on its owners' intention to neither invest these moneys in villas nor old masters nor racing horses but in ideas worthy to be supported and promoted. To this end, they established a joint-stock company that serves as a bridge to convey the necessary finances to the necessary ideas. And vice versa, of course. Thus, Datuma is neither a foundation nor a bank but something in-between.
It is an enterprise that neither makes an outright gift of money nor strives to make maximum profits but funnels initial aid to interesting projects. In this manner, it intends to offer an opportunity allowing strong ideas to flourish no matter how small their own means. And in doing so, we support them above all by making loans available to them - though our help is not solely restricted to loans for we have much more to offer than merely the necessary capital.
